Dan’l Boone Inn is a comfort food dream come true
Housed in a building that once was a residence and a hospital, it is easy to see why people find it so charming. Considered one of the oldest buildings in the area, the restaurant is aptly named after the folklore pioneer that blazed trails through these hills and made a legend of himself. The story is told that Daniel Boone once camped in this sleepy little town while traveling through on his way to sell his furs. This is the Dan’l Boone Inn located in Downtown Boone, NC.
“Once we are seated, the food starts coming out on carts.”
Stepping onto the property of the Dan’l Boone Inn is like stepping back into time. The grounds are landscaped with care and the many colors of foliage that graces its grounds pop with contrast. As we approach the building, the line is wrapped around to the back parking lot. This is surely a sign that this place has awesome food. The smells leaking from the building make my mouth water. Once we are seated, the food starts coming out on carts. The food is served home style where they bring it all out in bowls. If you run out, just ask your server for more and your wish will be granted. One thing you are not going to want to miss is the country ham biscuits. They are worth coming for if nothing else was served!
